Gypsy Jazz Jam Session
The Gypsy Jazz Jam is back starting with a 2-hour workshop. This is a fun and instructional event with a community group and food & drinks. Music included is gypsy jazz, swing, Latin and other styles of music with acoustic gypsy jazz and other style guitars & string instruments. This is for aspiring Manouche and swing style guitar players as well as the other string instruments including violin, mandolin, and stand up or sometimes electric bass. Snare drum with brushes and tight rhythm or certain percussion instruments usually work. Sometimes we can work with two bass players or someone can switch between guitar and bass.
All players with some experience are invited and all are welcome to play. Email pt@newearthmusic.com or click the contact link for complete information about the workshop and jam. Audience listeners are welcome; email with questions.
The workshop starts at 6pm and the full jam starts at about 8pm. The workshop is structured to include players of various levels of experience and covers many aspects of music including musicianship, ear training, music theory, geometry and numbering system to learn instrument layout, and multiple styles of rhythm ranging from swing to gypsy jazz to Latin. The workshop is presented with a multimedia presentation including video playback music and technical materials.
The later jam generally includes players with some experience in following swing or gypsy jazz using projected chord charts as needed or available.
Many times, more experienced players show up to help lead or assist other players. The people who participate always have plenty of patience. We also use chord charts and try to make sure everyone is included.

Non-Profit Music School
The non-profit music school will someday be the host for multiple music activities including gypsy jams and workshops.
If you have any ideas for benefactors or funding or helping with monthly lease, please contact Peter Tilton at pt@newearthmusic.com
Buddy Productions presents:
The location is a clubhouse with many great features including a large acoustically-sound space, full kitchen where we could do potlucks and a big refrigerator for pop, beer and wine, and a fireplace. In nice weather, we can play outside and then move inside to limit noise. Food & beer, wine & drinks are provided and sometimes people bring something special. You can donate for food or the workshop, but not required. All that is required is to come!
